Tree up to 30 m. Young branches glabrous. Leaf blade 5-lobed, 6-13 x 8-14 cm, base cordate or with very wide sinus, lobes oblong with several finely acuminate lobules, bright green and lustrous beneath except for the bearded vein axils; petiole glabrous, 6-20 cm, lactiferous. Flowers in erect, shortly peduncled corymbs. Fruit wings 30-35 x 12-15 mm, spreading nearly horizontally ; nutlets strongly compressed, ovate, glabrous; loculus glabrous. Fl spring. Mixed forest, 500-1900 m.
