Like S. canina but less tall , ± unbranched; leaves usually smaller, 2-3-pinnatisect with numerous small segments; bracts shorter; calyx with broader scarious margin; cymes 2-7-flowered; stamens with very long filaments exserted to 1 ½ -2 x length of corolla; staminode slightly shorter and more narrowly linear. Fl. 4-5. Pinus brutia forest, limestone phrygana, stony places, ruins, s.l.-800 m.
