Densely glandular-puberulent to glabrous perennial, 14-65 cm. Leaves thick, glabrous to densely glandular, lower with short petiole; lamina 2 mm-4.5 cm, ovate, base truncate to cuneate, margin ± obtusely, singly to doubly dentate or serrate, rarely lower leaves pinnatifid near base. Inflorescence aphyllous; peduncle 6-25 mm; cymes 2-7-flowered. Pedicel 1-6 mm, glandular. Bracteoles ± narrowly linear, rarely subulate, glandular, usually longer than pedicel. Calyx lobes glabrous to sparingly glandular, obovate to orbicular, 2-4x1.5-4 mm; scarious margin white, 0.5-1.3 mm broad. Corolla greenish-brown or -pink to brownish-red, 6 mm, lower lobes green. Stamens included or subexserted; staminode reniform. Capsule globose, 5-8 mm, apiculate. Fl. 6-7. Cliffs, scree, rocky slopes and crevices, 550-3050 m.
