Perennial, woody at base, 15-30 cm, densely greyish or yellowish and brownish pannose below, moderately or sparsely stellate-tomentose and moderately to densely glandular-hairy above. Stem terete, with numerous decumbent or ascending-erect branches. Basal leaves lanceolate to elliptic, 1,5-5 x 0,7-3 cm, crenate to crenulate and entire, petiole 0,5-3,5 cm; cauline similar but smaller. Inflorescences numerous, cylindrical, simple or with few branches, lax, 6-18 cm, 10-35 flowered. Bracts linear, 3-10 mm. Pedicels 5-10 mm, ebracteolate. Calyx 3-6 mm, with linear acute lobes. Corolla yellow, 10-15 mm diam., without pellucid glands, sparsely stellate-tomentose and with stalked glands outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform. Filaments with both whitish-yellow and violet hairs, 2 anterior glabrous near apex. Capsule globose, 3-4 mm, densely tomentose, later glabrescent. Fl. 6-8. Ruins, in crevices, 900-1000 m.
