Biennial, 100 cm, ± densely adpressed white-tomentose, glabrescent, eglandular. Stem terete, finely longitudinally striate, simple. Basal leaves oblong-ovate, 9-15x 3-6 cm, pinnatifid, terminal segment cordate-orbicular, 3-6 x 3-6 cm, obtuse, coarsely crenate, lateral segments 3-5-paired, elliptic or broadly ovate, distinctly or obscurely crenate, petiole 2-5 cm; cauline remote, small, linear-lanceolate, acuminate, entire. Inflorescence cylindrical, simple, with remote clusters of 2-5 flowers. Bracts lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acuminate. Pedicels to 4 mm; bracteoles linear-lanceolate. Calyx 4-5 mm, lobes linear-lanceolate, acutish. Corolla yellow, 20-25 mm diam., without pellucid glands, glabrous outside. Stamens 5, anthers reniform, 3 posterior filaments with purple-violet wool below and whitish-yellow wool above, 2 anterior with purple-violet wool up to anthers. Capsule unknown; ovary densely tomentose. FI. 5. Pinus and Abies forest, 940-1150 m.
