Annual, 20-90 cm, puberulent to glabrescent below, glandular-puberulent above. Stem terete, slender. Basal leaves obovate, obtuse, petiolate, lobed to pinnatifid; cauline numerous, ovate, pinnatisect to bipinnatisect, with linear to oblong segments. Inflorescence a lax, simple raceme. Bracts to 10 mm, oblong-linear to linear, entire. Pedicels 8-20 mm, ebracteolate. Calyx 4-6 mm, with oblong-lanceolate, acutish lobes. Corolla yellow, 16-18 mm diam. Anthers all reniform, filaments with yellow wool right up to anthers. Capsule broadly ellipsoid, 4-5,5 x 3-4 mm, compressed and keeled above, glabrous. Fl. 5-6. Steppe, macchie, Quercus scrub, limestone rocks, 600-1400 m.

Corolla yellow, 14-20 mmdiam., with a few brownish spots. Anthers all reniform, filaments with yellow wool right, up to anthers. Capsule ellipsoid, 4-7 x 3-4,5 mm, compressed and keeled above, glabrous. Fl. 4-6. Limestone slopes, Quercus scrub, vineyards, fallow fields, s.l.-1050 m.
