Monoecious suffrutescent perennial. Stems 15-40, to 25 cm, slender, erect, simple or sparingly branched at base, green, glabrous. Leaves subsessile, not closely adpressed to stem, narrowly elliptic to linear, 6-10 x 2-2.5 mm, acute, glabrous. Flowers in axillary clusters of 2-5. Subtending bracts 2, ovate to lanceolate, 2-5 mm. Staminate flowers 5-6 mm; pistillate 2-2.5 mm. Perianth densely pilose or sericeous in immature flowers, greenish-yellow; lobes reddish-brown. Fl. 7-8. Calcareous screes, rocky slopes, 1150-2440 m.
