Erect evergreen shrub to 2,5 m. Leaves dark green, coriaceous, ovate or elliptic, 3,5-10 x 1,5-7 cm, entire, with tufts of hairs in vein axils beneath. Stipules absent. Inflorescence a 2-3 x branched corymb, branchlets usually hirtellous. Sepals broadly triangular. Corolla white , rotate, c. 6-8 mm diam., all flowers in a corymb uniform in size. Drupe c. 8 mm, broadly ovoid, dark blue. Fl. 4. Thickets in macchie. 10- c. 400 m.
