Prostrate annual with branches up to 50 cm, glabrous or papillose-tomentose above. Leaves 1,5-3 x 0,6-1 cm, elongate-lanceolate or obovate-spathulate, weakly acuminate or obtuse and emarginate, finely mucronulate, somewhat fleshy, with a clear margin, long-petiolate. Flower clusters usually green. Bracteoles as long as the fruit, ovate, shortly acuminate. Perianth segments of the female flowers 4-5, unequal, ovate-lanceolate or elongate-spathulate thickened at the base, 2-3 mm. Fruit globose, 2 mm, shining, dehiscent. Fl. 4-7. Waste places, s.l.
Naturalised in the warmer regions of the earth.
