 Annual, up to 1 m, glabrescent, branches spreading. Leaves mostly opposite, 4-8 x 4-7 cm, triangular-hastate, entire or erose-dentate, sometimes fleshy . Inflorescence ± terminal, loosely paniculate. Bracteoles variable, 1-5 x 1-3 mm, triangular-deltoid to elliptic-deltoid, entire or toothed, herbaceous, appendage absent or represented by a single acute tooth or nodule in the upper part. Fl. 5-8. On wet salty sand, river banks, cultivated land, waste places, s.I.-50 m.
