Annual, 20-150 cm. Leaves 2-8 x 1-5 cm, rhombic, deltoid or ovate-lanceolate, entire or denticulate, the lower often 3-lobed, mealy beneath. Flowers in glomeruli arranged in terminal or axillary spikes, racemes or cymes. Perianth segments .with a rounded keel on the back. Pericarp free. Seed obtuse on the margins, nearly smooth with shallow, nidial furrows.
