Annual, 10-50 cm, with short glandular hairs in all parts, aromatic. Leaves 2-5 x 1-3 cm, oval or oblong, pinnatifid with 4-6 lobes on each side. Inflores-cence a long, terminal, nearly leafless dichasium, or few-flowered and axillary. Perianth segments acuminate, with a broad membranous margin, rounded on the back, nearly keelless. Seeds horizontal or vertical, smooth or with shallow pits or spiral curves. Fl. 5-7. Waste sandy and stony places, roadsides, river-beds, cultivated land, s.l.-1900 m.
