Shrub up to 1.5 m. Leaves up to 7 x 1 cm, narrowly elliptic to lanceolate, weakly acuminate. Flowers solitary in pseudospikes in the leafaxils or in terminal pseudo-panicles. Bracteoles 2.5-5 x2.5 mm, sessile or with a short tubular basal stalk, leathery. Fl. 6-8. Sandy salt-flats, particularly at the edges of channels and pools, s.l.-900 m.
