Plant branched, branches usually spine-tipped, up to 1 mm, glabrous, papillose or bristly. Leaves 10-25 x 5 mm, with an ovate base, subulate or linear-filiform above. Bracts and bracteoles narrowly ovate, hardening, shorter than or exceeding the flowers. Perianth 3-4 mm, glabrous, the segments winged, wing with an entire or erose margin. Style elongate, thick.
