Plant 20-45 cm, richly branched, at first with short fine hairs, later becoming glabrous, with a waxy covering. Leaves fleshy, up to 20 x 1,5 mm, semicircular, linear, broadened and ciliate at the base, gradually changing into the shorter, sometimes hairy bracts. Bracteoles elongate-ovate, sometimes shortly hairy. Perianth 5 mm, glabrous, the apex above the wing 3,5 mm, the lower part of the segments broadly triangular, firmly membranous, the upper part thinly membranous, elongate-triangular, ± connivent to a cone in fruit, 15 mm in section. Anthers narrowly linear, 1 mm; appendage of the connective 0,5 mm. Style 0,5 mm, thick; stigmas 1-1,1 mm, robust, ribbon-like. FI. 5-7. On damp salty soils, 1000 m.
