Bulb ovoid, 0.8-1 cm diam.; outer tunics blackish, striate. Stem 30-50 cm. Leaves 2-3, narrowly linear, 3-4.5 mm broad, flat. Valves of spathe subulate, longer than umbel. Umbel hemispherical, 2-3 cm diam., many-flowered, dense. Pedicels subequal, 1-2 cm, 2-3 x as long as flowers. Perianth shortly campanulate; segments violet-red or lilac-pink, ovate, 3-4 mm, obtuse. Filaments violet, subulate, 1.25 x perianth. Anthers violet. Style long. Capsule globose-trigonous, c. 3 mm. Fl. 7-8. Abies and Pinus forests, stunted Juniperus scrub, alpine pastures, above tree line, 1300-2800 m.
Endemic. Euxine element.
