Stout erect perennial, stems 50-420 cm, striate. Basal leaves 2-pinnate, elliptic in outline, 30-40 cm with petiole; ultimate segments 70-170 mm, ovate-elliptic, coarsely crenate, simple or 2-3-lobed. Umbels 20-30-rayed; rays stout, densely papillate; bracts and bracteoles absent. Flowers greenish-yellow; sepals c. 1 mm, conspicuous. Fruit 10-15 x 8-12 mm, suborbicular; margin c. 3 mm wide. Fl. 7-8. Scrub, 1400-2500 m.
