Annual, 2-40 cm, main stem erect, branches very differently developed. Leaves 1-7 cm long, 2,5-5 mm broad. Rays 1-5 , very unequal, 0,3-25 mm. Bracts 4, 2,5-9 mm. Bracteoles 5, 2,5-6 mm long, 0,5-1 mm broad. Petals yellowish-green, 0,4-0,5 mm, inflexed lobed ½ of limb, tapering to a truncate top. Anthers c. 0,3 mm. Stylopodium 0,5-0,6 mm broad, styles 0,15-0,2 mm. Fruit 1,9-2,3 mm, rounded, rugulose with irregularly confluent rugulae, ridges with partly irregular wings, 0,15-0,2 mm high. 2n = 16. Fl. 7-9. Salt marshes saline earth, open soil on limestone, occasionally weedy, s.l.-300 m.
