Stems erect or ascending-erect, branched, sparsely spreading- or retrorsely-setose or almost glabrous. Leaves sparsely setose to glabrous. Petals white or pinkish, 1-2 mm. Fruit 8-11 mm; lateral primary ridges with short, crisped hairs; 3 dorsal primary ridges with small spines with broadened bases; secondary ridges with longer spines, broadened at the base but scarcely confluent. Fl. 5-8. Fields, slopes, roadsides, waste places, s.l.-2200 m
