Perennial, entirely glabrous, glaucous, polycarpic. Rootstock thin, generally horizontal, rarely vertical, up to 1 cm in diameter; fibrous collar present. Stems 1–3, 30–70 cm long, 1–2 mm in diameter at the base, terete, sulcate, striate. Basal leaves elliptic in outline, 5–16 cm long, ternate, glabrous; segments linear to narrowly elliptic or elliptic, 3–13.5 × 0.2–0.9 cm, ultimate segments entire to deeply lobed; petiole 4–10 cm long. Lower cauline leaves ternate, segments linear to narrowly elliptic, up to 3–4 × 0.2–0.5 cm, sheath elliptic-oblong, 2–3 cm, membranaceous. Middle and upper cauline leaves similar to lower ones, reduced upwards; lamina linear, up to 3 cm, sheath elliptic-oblong, 1–2 cm. Inflorescence lax paniculate-corymbose. Umbels 1–3 cm in diameter. Rays 5, unequally, 0.5–3 cm. Bracts absent or single, linear, 3–8 mm, membranaceous, persistent. Bracteoles 5–6, subulate, 2–4 mm. Umbellules 5–12-flowered, fruiting pedicels 2–4 mm long, ± equal. All flowers hermaphrodite; calyx teeth obsolete; petal yellow, up to 0.5 mm long, without claw. Fruit straw-coloured, obovoid to oblong or elliptic, dorsally compressed, flattened. Mericarps 7.5–9.5 × 3.5–5.5 mm, with lateral wings 0.4–0.6 mm wide, dorsal ribs prominent, 5 ribbed; vittae prominent, dorsal vittae irregularly 1 per vallecula, commissural vittae 2.
