Glabrous perennial. Stem terete, weakly sulcate, up to 2-5 m tall and more than 3 cm thick at base. Leaves 4-6-pinnate, triangular-ovate in outline, 25-45 x 20-30 cm, glabrous; ultimate segments linear or linear-filiform, 10-50 x 0,3-3 mm, green above, green or glaucous beneath. Sheaths strongly inflated, coriaceous, amplexicaul. Inflorescence panicular-corymbose, elongated, central umbels short-pedunculate or sessile, rays 20-30, subequal, 3-4 cm; umbellules 15-40-flowered, fruiting pedicels slightly accrescent, 6-10 mm; bracteoles linear-subulate, caducous. Mericarps elliptic to sub-orbicular, 10-16 x 7-14 mm, truncate-retuse at the base, dorsal ridges filiform, lateral wings 1-1,5 mm wide; dorsal vittae 2-3 per vallecula, commissural 4-6.
