Perennial, 5-60 cm, aromatic or not, collar sheathed by flat papery remains of petioles. Stems 1-4 mm diam. below. Lower leaves 1-pinnate and oblong, or with the lowest pair of pinnae trisect or 2-foliolate; leaflets ± pubescent, sessile or petiolulate, mostly suborbicular, 5-30 mm, dentate. Cauline leaves with broadly ovate-oblong sheaths, rounded to emarginate at apex. Rays 2-5, subequal, 2-7 cm. Bracteoles lanceolate. Flowers white, ± regular. Ovary pubescent. Fruits elliptic-obovate, sub-emarginate, 8-10 x 5,5-6,5 mm, ± pubescenf or glabrescent; dorsal vittae clavate, 1/3-1/2 as long as mericarp; commissural vittae apparently absent. Fl. 7-9. Shady rocks, rocky slopes, screes, 1600-3000 m.
