Erect, ± glabrous perennial, 12-90 cm with sturdy rootstocks crowned with numerous rigid ± imbricating petiole remains. Lower leaves 2-3-pinnate, 6-30 x 1-20 cm, ultimate segments ovate to rhomboid, 5-20 x3-15 mm, ± deeply divided into 3-7± lanceolate lobes. Rays 7-16, equal or not, 15-7 cm. Bracts 3-8, lanceolate, 3-5 mm. Bracteoles 7-10, elliptic to linear-lanceolate, ± equalling pedicels. Pedicels 5-15, unequal, sometimes minutely hirtulous, up to 5 mm. Petals yellowish. Fruit 3,5-6 x2-3 mm; mericarps ± terete, glabrous, primary ridges narrowly winged, secondary with wings to 1 mm, yellow, papery, undulating or not. Fl. 7-8. Conglomerate or limestone cliffs, rocky slopes banks and screes, 1400-2930 m.
