Stem glabrous, terete, hollow, striate, often purplish tinged, ± winged above, often somewhat contracted below umbel, 30-130 cm. Basal leaves broad-triangular to triangular-ovate, 30-50 x 14-25 cm, segments ± ovate, 0,8-5 x 0,3-2,5 cm, coarsely serrate or with serrated lobes, teeth apiculate, glabrous or minutely asperous on margins and veins below, veins often somewhat winged. Rays 16-40, asperulous, aggregating at base at maturity, 1-6 cm, outer longer than inner. Pedicels similar to rays, 2-10 mm. Anthers cream or deep violet. Fruit glabrous, c. 3 x 2 mm. Fl. 7-8. Flushes, streamsides, damp meadows, bushy slopes, 1600-2800 m.
