Perennial with an apparently horizontal rhizome; stem 70-90 cm, prominently striate, retrorsely puberulent. Basal leaves usually ternate, rarely undivided, petiole c. 20 cm; leaflets ovate, 4-5 x 3-3,5 cm, base truncate or cordate, petiolules c. 1 cm. Upper stem leaves vaginate, with or without a ternate lamina. Umbels 9-15-rayed; bracts and bracteoles absent. Mericarps c. 3 mm, ovate, dorsal ridges prominent. FI. 7-8. Damp deciduous or coniferous forests, stony places, 500-1900 m.
Endemic. Euxine element.
