Stem erect, to 1m, often branched above, subglabrous or ± puberulent. Leaves subglabrous or ± minutely puberulent, especially beneath, to 8 x 4 cm; lower ovate, upper lanceolate, apex acute, base subcuneate, subobtuse or rarely slightly decurrent; petioles to 1 cm. Cymes 3-9-flowered, distinctly pedunculate, longer than petioles. Pedicels to 6 mm, ± puberulent. Calyx lobes lanceolate. Corolla greenish-yellow, c. 8 mm diam.; lobes triangular, white-Ianate inside. Follicles fusiform, 3-7 cm, ± glabrous. Fl. 5-8. Dry, open Astragalus steppe, Iimestone rocky slopes and by streams, 700-2030 m.
