Rootstock unknown. Stem to 45 cm tall, branched from base, hirtellous. Median leaves 6-11 x 1-3 cm , linear-oblong to oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, often mucronulate, base bi-auriculate, auricles as long as broad, ± divergent, lamina hirtellous on both surfaces. Petioles 5-20 mm long, hirtellous. Perianth U-curved; utricle c. 10 x 8 mm, shortly hirsute; tube 2-3 cm x 5-7 mm, scarcely dilated above, hirsute outside and inside; limb expanded, c. 4.5 x 5 cm, bi-auriculate, cordate-rotund, apex rounded, margin slightly incurved, hirsute with scattered pale multicellular hairs inside and outside. Young fruits narrowly obovoid to club-shaped, tomentellous. Fl. 4. Pinus brutia forest, 30-600 m.
