Bulb ovoid, ca 1.0-1.5 cm in diameter, with bulblets; tunic blackish-brown. Leaves 2-5, erect, falcate, linear_lanceolate, 4-9x 0.1-0.5 cm, canaliculate, green, with sheating base. Scape 1, 3-7 cm , shorter or as long as the leaves, not distinctly elongating in fruit. Raceme ovoid, 0.8-1.0x1.0-1.2 cm, 10-15-flowered. Pedicels 0.5-2.0 mm in flower, erect-spreading, elongating to 4-5 mm when fruiting. Bracts very minute, white, membraneous. Flowers narrowly campanulate, bicoloured; perianth tube pale sky blue , with facia, 5-6 mm, ca 3-4 mm broad at apex, not constricted; lobes purely white, 2.0x2.5 mm, recurved, ovate with slender darker blue facia continuing down the periant tube and into the lobes. Sterile flowers pale blue- white. Stamens biseriate, attached in lower half of tube; filaments 0.5-0.6 mm, darkish blue or purplish, anthers up to 1 mm, dark_greyish or blackish-violet. Ovarium ovoid to globose, ca 1.5 mm; style ca 1 mm; capitate. Capsule 2.5-3 mm wide, orbicular, triquetrous or winglike. Plant fragrant. Flowering and fruiting in Apr-May. Growing in stony places, mountain steppe, 1950 m a.s.l.
