Bulb with numerous offsets. Scape erect, 20-60 cm. Leaves linear, parallel-sided, almost as long as to longer than scape, 6-15 mm broad, with a white line on upper surface; margins entire, glabrous. Raceme cylindrical, with 9-17 flowers. Perianth segments 20-31 mm, white inside, mostly green with narrow white margins outside. Filaments broadened and bearing wings which end in 2 large teeth at side of anther. Fruiting pedicels shorter than fruit, at first erect-spreading, later drooping. Capsule ovoid. 2n = 14, 15, 40, 41. Fl. 3-5. Slopes, fields, meadows, roadsides, s.l.-1950 m.
