Bulb 1-2 cm diam., tunics fuscous, scales sometimes purplish. Leaves 3-4, broadly linear, 10-39 cm x 5-15 mm. Scapes 2-3, erect, 9-38 cm. Raceme 3-15-flowered; pedicels erect or suberect, lower longer than perianth segments, to 2.5 cm, upper to 5 mm. Bracts 2-3 mm, elongate-triangular, cordate biauriculate at base, sometimes forming spur. Perianth segments pale blue, 5-8.5 x 1.5-3 mm, spreading. Filaments 0.5 mm broad at base. Ovary subglobose, c. 2-3 mm diam. Style 2.5-3 mm. Seeds subglobose, c. 3 mm diam., dark brown; strophiole scarcely developed, raphe-like, concolorous. 2n = 12. FI. 3-4. Water meadows, grassy slopes under shrubs, woods, s.l. –20 m.
