Plant tufted, 5-25 cm. Fronds 1-pinnate, petiole 3-8 cm, petiole and rachis narrowly winged, purplish-brown, polished. Lamina linear, dark green, pinnae ovate or oblong, base truncate, upper margin crenate, occasionally more deeply divided; pinnae very shortly stalked, deciduous. Sori 1-1,5 mm long in a single oblique series on either side of the main vein of the pinnae, indusium elongate pale green. Spores ripe, 4-8. Amongst rocks and on walls both non-calcareous and calcareous, 20-2000 m.
