Height 15-45 cm. Leaves linear, appearing grey due to very short hairs, often incurved-falcate or bent downwards, median cauline 1,5-3 x 0,1-0,15 cm, pinnatisect, segments densely imbricate, 0,5-0,7 mm, 3-partite, lobes orbicular, denticulate, upper cauline shorter. Capitula 3-40, corymbs 1,5-4 cm broad, peduncles 2-20 mm. Involucre broadly ovoid to hemispherical, 3,5-6 x 3-6 mm. Phyllaries ovate-triangular to oblong, subacute, carinate, not scarious margined, adpressed-tomentose. Ligules 5-7, yellow, 1,5-2 mm; disc flowers c. 20-30. Paleae lanceolate, mostly acute, hairy in upper part. Fl. 6-8. Steppe, rocky slopes, Pinus forest, Quercus scrub, 650-2000 m.
