Height 20-35 cm. Stems terete, longitudinally striped, adpressed-tomentose, glabrescent. Leaves loosely subadpressed-pilose, linear-filiform, flexuose, median cauline 1,5-3 x 0,05-0,1 cm, pinnatisect, segments densely imbricate, undivided or rarely 3-lobed, 0,5 x 0,3 mm, denticulate. Capitula 10-40, corymbs 3-7 cm broad, peduncles 4-13 mm. Involucre subglobose, ± umbilicate at base, 3-5 mm broad and long. Phyllaries ovate to lanceolate, subacute or obtuse, loosely adpressed- or subadpressed-hairy, inner narrowly pellucid-margined. Ligules 5-7, white, 2-3 mm; disc flowers 20-45. Fl. 6-7. Steppe, rocky slopes, coniferous forest, subalpine meadows, 900-2150 m.
Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Allied to A. goniocephala and A. spinulifolia.
