Perennial with procumbent stems 20-30 cm, simple or with 1-2 branches. Leaves with thin adpressed tomentum, pinnatipartite, basal and lower petiolate with 4-5 pairs of linear-Ianceolate segments , median and upper sessile with fewer segments. Involucre 15-18 x 10-13 rom, oblong, slightly arachnoid at margins of basal part of phyllaries. Appendages small, brown, with 7-10 cilia on each side, with hyaline auricles towards base, ending in a 1,5-5 mm spinule. Flowers yellow, marginal not radiant. Achenes c. 5 mm; pappus 2 mm. Fl. 7-8. Rocky mountain slopes, c. 1700 m.
