Perennial, woody rhizome ending in a central rosette of leaves, with numerous lateral erect stems 30-50 cm, branched above. Leaves thinly tomentose, glabrescent; basal petiolate, pinnatipartite with 1-3 pairs of distant linear to narrowly oblanceolate segments; mediaqn and upper leaves simple, linear, 0,5-2 mm broad. Capitula arranged in small clusters, easily deciduous. Involucre 10-13 x 3-4 mm, ± fusiform. Appendages relatively large, ± spreading, light to dark brown, narrowly triangular, with 10-15 cilia on each side , ending in a 1-2 mm spinule. Flowers pink, marginal not radiant. Achenes 3 mm; pappus 2-3 mm. Fl. 6. Forests, macchie, screes, s.l.-460 m.
