Perennial, tomentose, 25-35 cm, with few branches in upper part. Basal and lower leaves lyrate to simple, leaf or terminal segment lanceolate, 10-30 mm broad, 1-2 pairs of small lateral segments, upper leaves simple, 2-5 mm broad. Involucre 12-15 x 10-12 mm. Appendages large, concealing basal part of phyllaries, decurrent, nearly orbicular, hyaline with a firmer light brown central part, margin denticulate and ±lacerate, ending in a 0,3-0,7 mm mucro. Flowers rose-purple. Achenes 3,5-4 mm; pappus 3-4 mm. Fl. 6-7. Rocks, 880-1800 m.
