Plant very tall, 100-190 cm. Stem moderately glandular-hairy. Leaves ± densely clothed with mostly short-stalked glands. Basal leaves very large, broadly ovate to reniform, 12-15 x 8-12 cm; petiole up to 20 cm, long- and short-stalked glandular. Lower cauline leaves large, broadly ovate-reniform, obtuse, petiole to 11 cm; upper ovate-elliptic, sessile, subacute to obtuse. Capitula 4-6, disc to 3,5 cm broad; peduncles of lower heads 10-25 cm, of uppermost pair of heads 2,5-6 cm, densely villous with long-stalked glands, apex rather strongly turbinate-thickened. Phyllaries large, ovate-lanceolate, margins with long-stalked glands, surface with short-stalked glands. Fl. 7.
