Stem 2-25 cm, furcate. Indumentum adpressed. Leaves 15-25 x 0,8-1,5 mm, linear to filiform, acute, usually with slightly involute margin. Capitula 2,5-4 x 2-2,5 mm, pyramidal-ovoid, 5-angled, in clusters of 2-14, with linear-lanceolate subtending leaves, usually longer than clusters. Median paleae 3 x 0,7 mm, strongly saccate at base. Inner female flowers 1,8-2 mm, 8-12; hermaphrodite flowers 2,2-2,5 mm, 2-3. Achenes of outerfemale flowers 0,8-0,9 x 0,4 mm, those of inner flowers c. 0,6 x 0,25 mm. Pappus 2-4,5 mm. Fl. 4-6. Dry pastures, dunes, fallow fields, roadsides, s.l.-200 m.
