Plant 15-45 cm, eglandular or with few glandular hairs, indumentum passing gradually from numerous minute pubescent hairs to longer 1-2 mm subadpressed or spreading hirsute setiform hairs. Basal leaves linear-lanceolate, 2·5-8 x 0.3-2 cm; cauline linear-lanceolate to lanceolate, 1-6 x 0,3-1·3 cm. Cymes 10-20 cm in fruit. Bracts linear-lanceolate, 0·7-2 x 0,2-0,5 cm, c. 2 x calyx. Calyx 4-6 mm in flower, 7-8 mm in fruit. Corolla blue, glabrous outside, 9-12 mm, limb 5-8 mm diam. Nutlets 2-2,5 mm diam., usually densely tuberculate, warts obtuse, not confluent at base, rarely nearly smooth; beak deflexed. FI. 3-7. Rocky slopes, limestone scree, steppe, garigue, coniferous forest, 100-2000 m.
