Distinguished from P. calycinum by calyx 6,5-8 mm, shorter than or rarely longer than corolla; corolla 6-9 mm, tube not more than 2 x length of limb; scales 1,2-2,5 mm, oblong, apex inflated and usually strongly incurved style 7,8-13 mm. Fl. 5-6. Steppe, slate, serpentine, chalk and mudstone slopes, fallow fields, stony disturbed ground, 500-1500 m.
