Biennial. Stem 35-60 cm, branched below middle, setose. Leaves lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong, acute, setose throughout; basal to 25 cm, petioles 6-7 cm; cauline 8-15 cm, sessile. Cymes very numerous, forming a corymbose inflorescence . Bracts with a broad subcordate base, then abruptly narrowed and tapering towards an acute apex. Pedicels 5 mm in flower, 8- mm in fruit. Calyx 13 mm in flower, 16 mm in fruit, lobes linear, subacute, densely long white patent-setose. Corolla golden-yellow, 17-20 mm, cylindrical-campanulate, glabrous. Nutlets c. 3·5 mm, ovoid, acute, not keeled, brownish. Fl. 5-7. Arbutus forest, fallow fields, and field margins, macchie, vineyards, s.I.-1520 m.
