Perennial, rhizome creeping, much-branched at apex. Stems simple, erect to ascending, 10-12 cm, with antrorsely adpressed setae and short crispulate hairs. Leaves 15-25 x 5-9 mm, basal spathulate, obtuse, shortly petiolate, cauline obovate-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, sessile; all densely whitish to yellowish adpressed-setose on minute tubercles. Inflorescence densely capitate in flower and fruit. Bracts linear, at least lower exceeding calyx. Pedicels 1-2 mm Calyx 12-14 mm, lobes narrowly linear, densely whitish to yellowish patent-setose, not accrescent in fruit. Corolla 13-16 mm, subcylindrical; milk-white, pubescent. Anthers included. Nutlets unknown. Fl. 7. Igneous scree, 2700-2900 m.
