Perennial. Stems numerous, to 20 cm, erect or ascending, simple or branched, patent-setose, shortly hairy. Leaves 10-60 mm, linear, linear-Ianceolate or spathulate, rarely lanceolate-oblong, sessile or subsessile, acute to obtuse, patentsetose, shortly hairy. Inflorescence of 1-2 cymes, elongate after flowering. Bracts lanceolate. Pedicels 1-3 mm. Calyx 8-12 mm in flower, to 15 mm in fruit, lobes narrowly linear. Corolla yellowish-white, 15-22 mm, subcylindrical or cylindrical-campanulate, glabrous. Anthers included. Nutlets 5 mm, pale, smooth or nearly smooth. Fl. 4-8. Gravel plains, steppe, shaly, igneous and limestone slopes, screes, 300-2600 m.
