Like O. aucheranum but stem ± patent-setose; basal leaves often shrivelled at flowering time; short hairs on stem irregular or even nearly stellately arranged; tubercles at base of foliar setae consisting of several series of cells, each bearing hairs, those closest to seta nearly erect, the others oblique to horizontal; corolla usually cylindrical.
