Slender puberulous perennial, 12-45 cm. Leaves oblong-ovate, lower shortly petiolate, subrepand, upper sessile, shortly decurrent. Flowers 8-36. Calyx 4·5-8 mm, accrescent to 13 mm in fruit, divided nearly to base, lobes linearlanceolate, subacute. Corolla white or violet, 8-16 mm, tube 2 x calyx; scales 3·5-5 mm, linear, obtuse, scarcely exceeding stamens. Nutlets 3-4 mm, curved, reticulately veined, tuberculate. FI. 4-9. Montane woods, 50-1390 m.
Endemic. E. Mediterranean element.
