Biennial herb, 20-80 cm, smelling of garlic. Basal leaves reniform, margins sinuate or distantly toothed. Cauline leaves triangular-ovate, shortly petiolate. Inflorescence short. Petals 7-8 x 3-3.5 mm. Fruiting pedicels short and thick, 2-8 x 1 mm. Fruit borne erect or erect-spreading, 5-7 cm x 2-3 mm, acute at apex; style 1-3 mm. Seeds c. 16, dark brown. FI. 4-6. Shady places, 30-1500 m.
