Suffrutescent perennial up to 1 m. Stems branched in the region of the inflorescence. Basal leaves broadly ovate, 10-17 cm, petiolate, truncate at base, usually with a few small lobes on the petiole. Upper leaves oblong, crenate-dentate, dilated at the base; uppermost leaves linear, entire. Petals pale yellow or white, c. 18 x 7 mm. Fruiting pedicels 10-27 mm, erect-spreading. Fruit 4-6,5 x 2-3,5 cm including a beak 6-11 x 3 mm, which persists after the valves have dehisced. Fl. 4-6. Rocks, usually near s.l.
