Annual herb up to 70 cm, branched from the base or sub-simple. Stem and lower leaves more or less densely covered with stiff white hairs, glabrescent above. Basal leaves rosette-forming, shortly and broadly petiolate, lyrate-pinnatisect. Upper leaves quickly diminishing in size, uppermost bract-like. Fruiting pedicels 10-35 mm, erect-spreading. Petals pale yellow, often with a trace of violet at throat, sometimes white, 7 x 2-3 mm. Ovary c. 15-ovulate. Siliquae 3-7 x 2,5 cm including a beak c. 1-2 x 0,1-0,2 cm. Seeds mucilaginous. Fl. 3-5. Waste places, s.l.-1000 m.
