Annual, 15-70 cm, sub-simple or branched from base. Basal leaves often rosette-forming, usually lyrate-pinnatifid, rarely ± lanceolate, entire or slightly toothed; upper leaves oblong or oblong-lanceolate, amplexicaul, sagittate. Petals 2-3 x 1,5 mm. Fruiting pedicels 6-12 mm, upwardly curved. Fruit 3 x 2 mm narrowed at apex into a short blunt conical beak, surface indistinctly reticulate. Fl. 3-5. Roadside, cornfields, scrub, slopes, streamsides, s.l-1100 m.
