Perennial herb. Stems tall, robust, 5-7 mm thick at the base. Leaves lyrate-pinnate, with 4-6 pairs of dentate leaflets, of which the terminal is largest. Stem leaves similar but smaller. Petals 8-12 mm, violet to pale mauve. Siliquae subspreading. Fl. 6-7. Boggy ground, lake and stream edges, etc., 1750-2000 m.
